Awakening

Inspired by the journey from primordial chaos to the emergence of harmony and consciousness, the choreography draws its source from the idea of an original chaos from which everything arises: the world, matter, consciousness, and the organization of the cosmos itself.

At first, movement evokes vast and unstable forces, echoing the macroscopic scale of the universe, where energies collide, expand, and transform. Gradually, a process of structuring unfolds. Atoms, composed of protons, neutrons, and electrons, interact through fundamental forces, decentering from themselves to form bonds and structures. Through this dynamic of attraction and relation, isolated elements come together to compose a whole.

This physical and symbolic process becomes a metaphor for human existence: a passage from dispersion to connection, from fragmentation to unity. The dancers embody this progressive organization, learning to listen, to attune, and to function in symbiosis, as if recalling the memory of an original oneness.

The piece moves from the cosmic to the intimate, from the vast movements of the universe to the infinitely sensitive realm of being, where consciousness awakens through relation, presence, and shared motion.

A choreographic piece for intermediate-level contemporary dance students at the Maison Pour Tous du Pecq.
